The Trace Metal Detection Technique (TMDT) makes metal trace patterns visible on skin and clothing that has been treated with a test solution and then illuminated by shortwave ultraviolet light. Examination allows an investigator to determine whether a suspect has been in contact with certain metal objects, identify the type of metal or metals involved, and determine what type of weapon or metal object was handled.
The kit is supplied complete with all essential components neatly organized in a molded copolymer carrying case with a machined plastic insert (measuring 12.125" x 7.25" x 5.5" / 30.8 cm x 18.4 cm x 14 cm, weighing 3 lbs / 1.4 kg), providing durable, organized storage for field and laboratory use.
